Join us for an informational meeting to learn about Phase3 School’s plans for Upper Elementary students with a Montessori background. We have received requests from parents whose children will enter their 5th and 6th years of Elementary, to host a meeting to discuss questions specific to your children’s educational needs.
This meeting will give you an opportunity to have these questions answered and to benefit from interaction with other families in similar situations.
In addition to your comments and questions, we plan to discuss:
- Preparedness of your 5th and 6th year students to move into Middle School. How do we identify gaps in their skill set, in particular Mathematics and Language Arts, and what can we do to bring them up to speed as rapidly as possible?
- What are your child’s strengths, and how do we build on them and ensure they stay challenged and engaged? Is it possible to accelerate their learning so they can be ahead of the game when they move up to Middle School?
- Parents will be consulted, and all 5th and 6th year students will be closely observed to identify specific areas of interest. Whether it be robotics, Civil War history or the Arts, once identified, Phase3 teachers will help to develop learning plans so that students can pursue these areas of interest without sacrificing a balanced education.
- Although we have a clear idea of how to maximize the educational experience of 5th and 6th year students, we also have some flexibility. We want to understand parents’ educational goals for their children. It is quite possible, after having these conversations, that we can adjust part of our approach to more closely align with your desired outcomes.
Also, please send us your questions or concerns in advance of the meeting, so that we can prepare and have specific answers ready for you.
One of our primary goals is to ensure our children are prepared to hit the ground running at whatever local move-up school your family may choose. Whether The Grove School, a public Middle School, or another private school, once you tell us what schools you are considering, we will work with that school to understand their requirements and any challenges children may face as they move up.
All the feedback we’ve received from parents that have met our teachers indicates that we have superior educators. Given that we expect to have an elementary class of about 16 children, your child will benefit from added interaction with our teachers, and will have an excellent opportunity to resolve gaps that may have cropped up in their academic preparation, and to accelerate their learning in areas of strength.

If none of the times available work for you, please let us know, and we will be happy to arrange another time to meet with your family to discuss your goals.
Finally, please feel free to pass on this invitation to other 5th and 6th year families that you think might be interested.

We look forward to meeting you.
